“The Keeper” Standard Postcard

This is my representation of keeping and preserving our culture. She is The Keeper, a spirit who keeps and holds traditions and culture, who preserves and hides it when needed and thrives when it is being honored. The keeper keeps our ancestors alive and honored from below the earth up into the cosmos. Quetzalcoatl is also represented here… the feathered serpent, the connection between earth and sky, a creator god. Because I believe there is much more in the cosmos that has aided civilization to great advancements beyond comprehension, I am also honoring that as I feel it is all intertwined. This painting is dedicated to my ancestors as well as those who have taken the time to educate me during ceremonies, temazcales, medicine meetings, etc. Indigenous ways are what I resonate with. It’s what feels normal. It’s what’s home.
